We are all too familiar with reports lamenting the number of animals at risk of disappearing forever. Now a new kind of endangered species has emerged: the stamp duty free London home.
Not taking into account shared ownership and auction properties, retirement homes and houseboats, there are now only four properties on the London market for less than £125,000. As a result, these four homes are the only ones left in the city that are exempt from stamp duty, which applies to any purchase above £125,000.
More rare than the black rhino, research by online estate agents Housesimple.com has revealed that there are now no properties at all in London that cost less than £100,000.
