Fewer homebuyers to hit snags |

New service makes it possible to get a snagging inspection for as little as £175.
New Build Inspections,
the leading independent provider of snagging inspections has launched a
new ‘value’ snagging inspection service through its portal Snagging.org. An innovative approach has been taken to reduce costs and to provide the best value snagging inspections for new homes in the UK without compromising on quality.
Catriona Bright, Managing Director of New Build Inspections said, “We
looked at a number of different technology solutions to cut costs
including the use of voice recognition software, PDAs, and tablet PCs.
The solution that met our requirement was the good old fashioned
handwritten pro-forma.”
Bright added, ”The use of pro-formas negates the need for the
reports to be typed up and allows the report to be issued on site. The
technical solutions provide the same but are not as reliable and the
cost of equipping and training a team of 50 inspectors was
prohibitive.”
The new service gives more new-build buyers access to the services of a professional snagger and represents excellent value for money.
Bright commented, “We have always aimed to provide great value
snagging inspections and this service helps us to achieve this goal by
making the service affordable to a wider range of homebuyers.”
The last consumer satisfaction survey, carried out by the National House-Building Council (NHBC)
and the Home Builders Federation (HBF) reported a massive increase in
the number new-build buyers reporting snags and defects – the figure
now stands at 93%.
Bright said, “With an increasing percentage of new-build buyers reporting a growing number of defects on their snag list it is more important than ever to get your new home professionally inspected.”
